Itinerary option
Day 1: Arrival day
Transfer from the airport to Villars sur Ollon.
Day 2: Villars, Switzerland
Your first hike leads you on natural forest trails and cobblestones through pine forests and alpine meadows. Visit the picturesque villages Gryon and Solalex.
Day 3: Bretaye, Switzerland
Walk from Bretaye across alpine meadows with the stunning Swiss Alps at every turn until you reach an alpine farm. Meet the farmer and learn the details of alpine farming and cheese making.
Day 4: St. Bernard Pass, Switzerland
Transfer to the St. Bernard Pass, an ancient Roman trans-alpine route, later the path of Napoleon’s army into Italy in 1800. En route there is an excursion to the St. Bernard Museum.
Day 5: Valnontey, Italy
Today’s hike will take you on a continuous ascent through coniferous and larch forests. Absorb fabulous views as you approach the beautiful, permanently snow-covered Gran Paradiso Mountains.
Day 6: Lillaz, Italy
Visit the village and the Lillaz waterfall. Your hike from Gimillan leads you across alpine meadows – take in the panoramic views of the majestic mountains of Gran Paradiso National Park.
Day 7: Aosta, Italy
Walk around the attractive mountain town of Aosta, founded by the Romans in 25 BC – primarily a military camp, and known as “Rome of the Alps.” The setting of this town is pure enchantment, surrounded by mountains.
Day 8: Courmayeur, Italy
Transfer to Chamonix in France. On the way visit Courmayeur, a striking and fashionable resort located at the foot of Mont Blanc.
Day 9: Scenic circular trail to the Swiss border
Today’s hike starts in “Les Autannes”and forms a loop. In this way you can enjoy wonderful views over the whole valley and the Mont Blanc range without repeating the same terrain.
Day 10: Aiguille de Midi, France
Take a cable car up to Mont Blanc, enjoying the marvellous views as it first climbs to Plan de l’Aiguille and then to Aiguille de Midi. The panorama on a clear day is simply one of the best in the Alps, with views of mountains as far as the eye can see.
Day 11: Geneva, Switzerland
Still in Chamonix, visit the largest glacier in France and its ice caves. Afterwards you travel to Geneva and spend the rest of the day in the city.
Day 12: Departure day
Transfer to the airport and departure.
